After a long standoff, Pittsburg police arrest man who fired several rounds

Pittsburg took a man into custody following a five-hour standoff, which began at 11 a.m. Friday following a family argument, police said.

Officers were called to a home to check on a man with two handguns in the 600 block of School Street. Police said that before arriving on the scene, the man fired several rounds toward a victim, whose relationship to the shooter was not given.

Family members told police there was an argument and a brief struggle for the handguns before the man fired toward a victim and later drove away in his car. No was one was shot, and everyone involved left the area of the home, police said.

Police used drone technology to survey the scene, and within minutes, officers located the man’s car parked back in front of his residence on School Street. Learning his identity, they called his cell phone, but he refused to leave the home
