Drones and dogs being used to help find missing people

Police officers are using both dogs and drones to aid in the search for missing people.

Officers in New Hampshire are using drills to test the use of both resources.

“We find we can cover large geographical areas more effectively with the use of two types of technology,” said David DuBois, sheriff of Strafford County, New Hampshire.

They use two types of drones: a larger one equipped with better cameras that provides stability in the wind, and a smaller one for use when time is of the essence.

“The smaller one is really quick and easy to deploy. We can get that thing up and in the air in less than five minutes,” drone operator Ryan Christenbury said.
