‘He was bleeding so much’: Man shot in head on Taradale street

The Calgary man who tried to save the life of a gunshot victim on Tuesday night says he saw two men run from the area as emergency crews arrived on scene.

Homicide detectives are investigating what’s believed to be a targeted killing after a man was found dead inside a crashed car, shot in the head in the northeast community of Taradale around 11:50 p.m.

Govardhanan Nagappan was watching a movie in his home in the 200 block of Taracove Road N.E. just before midnight when he heard a loud crash outside. He walked out to see a Nissan Altima wedged underneath his Mazda SUV, upending his vehicle’s rear wheels.

The SUV’s front end had impact damage and appeared to have collided with a Ford, and one of the SUV’s rear wheels was lodged in the Nissan’s windshield.
