Telangana: Cops deploy drone cameras to keep an eye on Maoists' movementsHyderabad: Police took the help of drones for surveillance in areas with high presence of Maoists during the Telangana Assembly elections.

The Ramagundam police deployed drones for surveillance in the Pranahita project command area in Chennur constituency. Ramagundam Police Commissioner V Satyanarayana said drone cameras were used for surveillance in 47 sensitive locations where Maoists had presence or influence. Neelvai, Kotapalli and Chennur were some of the areas where they deployed drone cameras.

Greyhounds and special police teams have been combing the areas for the last few days. Drone cameras were connected to the CCTV network in the control room. The commissioner said special teams were kept ready to be pressed into action, if any Maoist movement is traced.
