RARITAN TOWNSHIP – Four years ago, the NJ Drone Academy was the second of its kind to open in the United States.
Today, the academy teaches people how to build, control and manage drones, and works with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office to help locate residents with dementia who’ve gone missing. It works with the New Jersey Farm Bureau to count deer. It helps the N.J. Department of Transportation to inspect bridges and light poles. Some of its other clients have included local police departments, schools, the FBI, Atlantic Crane and AECON.
