Wake Forest assistant basketball coach Jamill Jones, 35, surrendered to the police Thursday in New York after he was charged in connection with the death of a man who mistook Jones’s car for his Uber ride, reports say.
Citing police, NBC New York reports that Jones attacked Sandor Szabo around 1:15 a.m. Sunday in Queens, after Szabo knocked on Jones’s car window, thinking it was his Uber.
The Associated Press writes:
A person familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press that Szabo may have been drunkenly knocking on car windows before Jones allegedly confronted him. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person was not allowed to speak publicly.
