KOLKATA: Security concerns have been raised after a camera drone was recovered from Tawajote village in Phansidewa in Darjeeling district of West Bengal on Tuesday morning during Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s ongoing tour of north Bengal.
Police are investigating whether the drone had been flown from neighbouring Bangladesh, which is just across the Mahananda river.
Security forces noticed the drone on Tuesday morning, sources said. Top police officials reached the spot and are investigating the case.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held an administrative meeting in Coochbehar district on Tuesday. She will hold administrative meetings in three districts during the four-day tour of north Bengal.
