Drone camera culture flying high in city, but operators unaware of rules

Visakhapatnam: The Port City, which has become a beehive of activity over the last few years by hosting a spate of national and international events, is witnessing a rise in aerial photography involving drone cameras. The operators of these drone cameras, however, are at the risk of running afoul of the law as a majority of them have not registered their equipment with the local police.

The drone cameras are increasingly being used in weddings, functions and other public events in the city, but many are unaware of the red tape that one has to get out of the way before operating one, as a drone poses a security risk – especially in a city like Vizag that has several vital installations.
