Riverside couple plead guilty to transporting drugs via aerial drone – Press

A Riverside man and his girlfriend, who used a drone to fly illegal drugs from their house to customers in a nearby parking lot, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of controlled substances for sale and other charges.

Benjamin Paul Baldasarre, 40, and Ashley Lauren Carroll, 32, were arrested in December following an undercover Riverside police investigation into illegal activity at the defendants’ residence in the Orangecrest area.

Before their preliminary hearing was scheduled to begin at the Riverside Hall of Justice Friday morning, the prosecution and the defendants’ attorneys notified Riverside County Superior Court Judge David Gunn that a plea agreement had been reached.
