In 2017, the Manitowoc Police Department stayed busy hiring new officers, expanding the women’s locker room to accommodate an increase in sworn female officers, and adding new equipment to help keep the public safe. Also, with the retirement of K-9 Ully, the department welcomed another new K-9.

As a result of several retirements in 2017, the police department hired seven officers. While three of these officers were from the local area, three others were from the Green Bay area and one from the Eau Claire area.
