Drone operators assisting with the emergency response and damage assessments for Hurricane Harvey and Irma have received free LineVision software, courtesy of Remote GeoSystems Inc. The company announced Friday that it was donating free licenses to all official agency, volunteer, and non-profit drone personnel.
The LineVision video and photo mapping software assists in mapping and viewing UAV flight tracks, helping to visualize, distribute, and share this data.
In their press release, the company writes, “This software suite is optimized for UAV, airborne and terrestrial mobile inspection, and survey projects requiring geo-referenced video playback, analysis, collaboration, and reporting using standard Esri map and data, Esri ArcMap, and Google Earth GIS applications.”
At time of the announcement, 119 UAS flights had already been conducted by the Texas AM Engineering Experiment Station Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue (CRASAR).
