ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) – The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office’s drone was instrumental in helping authorities apprehend a domestic assault suspect who was hiding.

The sheriff’s office says a man and his girlfriend were arguing as they were driving down Highway 23 near Glynn Road in Cold Spring around 2:40 Sunday morning.

The woman says the man started hitting and choking her, and she was able to get out of the vehicle and wave down a passerby for help.

Cold Spring Police officers responded and were told by the woman that the man ran off and that he may be armed with knives.

Stearns County deputies arrived on scene with their new drone and sent it into the sky.
