UPDATE: Police use drones to locate body believed to be missing man

You may have seen drones flying around the skies of Corsicana Tuesday afternoon in the areas around both Oil City Iron Works and Brookshire’s. These drones were not toys out on a leisure flight for fun, but were dispatched on a serious mission for the Corsicana Police Department.

On June 6 a search led by the CPD, along with the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office and the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management discovered a body in the wooded section near the intersection of S. Ninth St. and E. 14th Ave. The body is believed to be Cornell Soloman, who was reported missing June 1. Several squad cars were on the scene after an extensive search for him that same morning.

Soloman, age 79, was last seen on Monday, May 29 wearing black pants and a dark green shirt, and known to walk with a cane. However, he wasn’t reported missing until Thursday,
