Corbett to get more ‘drone power’ for better surveillance

NAINITAL: In a boost to wildlife protection measures in the Corbett Tiger Reserve, the National Tiger Conservation Authority has approved the deployment of 3 more drones in the premier tiger reserve.

Currently, 2 drones are being deployed in the reserve for keeping a watch on the wildlife and checking for instances of poaching and fires. Officials said that with more ‘drone power’ added to their surveillance mechanism, Corbett‘s security will get further enhanced.

Surendra Mehra, director of CTR said, “We have two drones which we are already using for vigil and surveillance. The approval of three more is surely a boost to our capabilities of keeping areil vigil which helps quick response on case of emergency.”
