Bureau of Fire Protection now using camera drones in firefighting missions


The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has decided to use camera drones to help putting out fires, especially in narrow alleys and streets as well as in heavily trafficked areas, the Department of Interior and Local Government said.

A camera drone proved to be very useful for BFP-Muntinlupa City as local firefighters tried to douse a fire that broke out in a residential area near the toll plaza in the city, DILG Officer-in-Charge Catalino S. Cuy said.

The camera drone helped firefighters to get an aerial view which enabled them to monitor and assess the gravity of the fire situation.
