A MICRO-DRONE has been found crashed in the grounds of the high-security jail holding serial killer Rose West, in the first known case of its kind.
The tiny gadget was found on an exercise yard at Category A Low Newton prison in County Durham, where West, 63, has been caged since 2008.
Drones have increasingly been used by lags’ pals to smuggle drugs, mobile phones and SIM cards into prison grounds.
There were 33 incidents of drones detected in or around prisons in England and Wales in 2015 – up from two the year before and none in 2013.
But this is believed to be the first known case of its kind involving a micro-drone.
